About us: Why so eccentric?
Scott Hewitt: guitar, bass, voice
Mike Lambe: percussion, melodica, harmonica, voice
Ed Travalia: guitar, bass, voice
An acoustic harmonic triple-layered cake with a little bit of jam, a little bit of swing, a little bit Dead, a little bit up in Scott’s head….
All hail and set sail from proud New Joisey; we found each other later in life here in the Napific Forthwest. Mike & Scott have been jamming (music, disc golf, eggplant parmesan) since locking brains over Trilok Gurtu’s interplanetary percussion journey on John McLaughlin Trio Live at the Royal Festival Hall; after playing for many moons in the Mystic Canyon Band, M&S made their ongoing duo a real live trio. Along came jolly and skilled Ed Travalia, who responded to an ad, showed up in Scott’s living room … and it’s as if he never left!
This is the greatest group of talented guys I’ve ever had the pleasure to listen to (sorry, Beatles – you’re so yesterday!) The sounds are smooth, the harmonizing a wonder to hear, the jovial fun of these guys who truly like each other – it’s a blast for the audience to enjoy.
